Violeta Gomez was
born in Barcelona. She met the artistic world for the first time
during her collaborations for the fanzine Movimiento Moderno in
the mid 80s. She was member of many pop groups as DeMónica,
Kremlyn and El Ejército de Salvación. Now she develops a solo
career in both pop and avant-garde music, offering concerts in
places such as the LEM Festival 2005 and La Pedrera, the
modernist building by Antoni Gaudí. "Candylove" is her first
solo record, but recently she released "El cul de les fades" (The
ass of the fairies), a pop record sung in Catalonian language.
She is also known for her literary and photographic works. Her
novels "Carmila" and "Godspellteen" achieved two awards in an
important contest for Spanish young writers, and her
photographic series "Alice in Loveland" gave her international
prestige though it was the target of Spanish conservative groups.
Violeta is a visionary artist with a rich world of her own,
peopled by young fairies and beautiful little girls, an artistic
gynaeceum forbidden to males where young girls play, unveil
their bodies and love each other eternally young. her style is
full of sensibility, strength and sensuality, suitable for all
ages but not for all sensibilities.
